FAQ

What people ask.

General

Is the garage only for companies in the Syairozi Group?

No. We look after the group companies’ vehicles, and the workshop is also open to other companies’ fleets and to private owners.

Which vehicles do you work on?

Passenger cars, light commercial vehicles such as pickups and vans, and motorcycles. Trucks and buses are coming soon.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the vehicle and the job. After the diagnosis we explain what we found and the estimate before starting. For a quote, send an email with the vehicle and what it needs.

Which parts do you use?

Genuine or OEM-grade parts that match your vehicle.

My vehicle will not run. Can you tow it?

We offer scheduled towing: the vehicle is brought to the garage at an agreed time. Send an email with the vehicle, where it is and when suits you.

Periodic maintenance

How often does my vehicle need periodic maintenance?

Follow the schedule in your vehicle manual. It usually gives both a distance and a time, whichever comes first. Vehicles that spend a lot of time in heavy traffic, on dusty roads or carrying heavy loads may need a tighter schedule, and we will tell you if that applies.

Which oil do you use?

Oil with the viscosity and standard your manual calls for. If you have a preferred brand, tell us at drop-off and we will use it as long as it meets the specification.

What happens if you find a fault during the service?

We stop, show you what we found and explain the estimate for fixing it. You decide whether it is done now, later or not at all. Either way, the finding goes into the service record.

Mechanical repair

Why not just take it apart straight away?

Taking things apart without knowing the cause often means replacing parts that were still fine. Diagnosing first keeps the work on target and makes the cost easier to estimate from the start.

How do I know a part really needs replacing?

We show you the part and explain why it is no longer fit for use. The old parts that come off can be seen or taken home if you ask at drop-off.

How long does an engine or transmission repair take?

It depends on what we find and on parts availability. We give a time estimate together with the cost estimate, and if anything changes we let you know before that time runs out.

Tires and alignment

What is the difference between spooring and balancing?

Spooring sets the wheel angles relative to the body so the vehicle runs straight and the tires wear evenly. Balancing evens out the weight of the wheel and tire so it does not shake as it spins. They are often done together but fix different problems.

When should I have spooring done?

When you fit new tires, after kaki-kaki repair, after a hard impact, or when the vehicle starts pulling to one side. For routine checks, follow the schedule in your vehicle manual.

Can I bring my own tires?

Yes, as long as the size and load rating suit the vehicle and they are in usable condition. We check them before fitting and tell you if anything does not match.

Electrical and diagnostics

If the fault code has been read, why does it still need checking?

A fault code tells you which system reported a problem, not which part has failed. The sensor named in the code may be fine while the real problem sits in the wiring, a connector or another part that affects it.

Can you just switch the warning light off?

We could, but it will come back on as long as the cause is still there. We only clear codes once the cause has been fixed and tested.

The problem only shows up now and then. Can you still find it?

Usually, though it can take longer. Tell us as much as you can about when it happens, such as in the rain, when the engine is hot or after the vehicle has stood for a while. Details like that help the diagnosis a great deal.

Does my battery need replacing?

Not necessarily. A battery that keeps going flat can be caused by a weak alternator, a current drain or trips that are too short to recharge it. We test the battery and the charging system first, then tell you whether the battery really needs replacing or the problem is elsewhere.

AC service

Can you just top up the refrigerant?

If the refrigerant is low, there is a leak. Topping up without fixing it means the AC warms up again soon and the refrigerant is wasted. We find the leak first, then you decide the next step.

How often does the AC need servicing?

The cabin filter and evaporator are best checked on the schedule in your vehicle manual, more often if the vehicle spends a lot of time on dusty roads. Otherwise, bring it in when it starts to cool less or smell.

Do you service AC on motorcycles?

Motorcycles do not have AC, so this service is for cars and light commercial vehicles. For trucks and buses, heavy vehicle service is coming soon.

Why does the AC smell musty when I switch it on?

It is usually dirt and mould building up on a damp evaporator and cabin filter. An air freshener only hides the smell for a while. The evaporator needs cleaning and the cabin filter replacing for the smell to really go.

Body and paint

Will the new paint match exactly?

We match the colour to the vehicle's original paint and check it under different light. Old paint that has seen a lot of sun can fade slightly, so sometimes the next panel needs blending so the change does not show. We explain this when we give the estimate.

Can a dent be fixed without repainting?

Sometimes, if the dent is shallow and the paint has not cracked. We look first and tell you whether that is possible for your damage.

How long does body and paint work take?

It depends on how much damage there is, how many panels are involved and whether any panel has to be ordered. Paint also needs enough time to cure before it is polished. We give a time estimate together with the cost estimate.

Stickers, wraps and livery

Will a wrap damage the original paint when it comes off?

On factory paint in good condition, a wrap removed properly usually leaves the paint unharmed. Paint that has been repaired before or is already brittle carries more risk, and we tell you that when we inspect the surface.

Do I need to bring my own design?

If you already have a design, send the file by email. If not, we can help lay out your logo and lettering to fit the shape of the vehicle before anything is cut.

What about a large fleet?

Vehicles can be booked in turn so your operation keeps running. The approved layout is used on every vehicle, so the result stays consistent.

Detailing and coating

Can polishing remove every scratch?

Polishing can reduce or remove fine marks in the top layer of paint. A scratch that has gone through to primer or metal will not polish out and needs paint repair. We show you which is which before we start.

How should I look after the vehicle after coating?

Wash with a gentle shampoo and a clean mitt, avoid stiff brushes, and do not wash it on the first day after coating. We go through the care instructions at handover.

Do you detail motorcycles?

Yes. Motorcycles are washed, polished and can be coated like cars, with extra care around the exposed engine, the chain and parts that should not take pressurised water.

Accessories and modification

Can I bring my own accessories?

Yes. We check first that the item suits the vehicle and is fit to install. If we have concerns about its quality or electrical load, we tell you before we start.

Can fitting accessories damage the vehicle's electrics?

It can, if wires are tapped into the wrong circuit or run without protection. We run a separate feed with the right fuse and relay, so the vehicle's own electrics are not overloaded.

Can the accessories be removed later?

Wherever we can, we fit without cutting wires or drilling bodywork unnecessarily, so the accessory can come out cleanly later. If fitting needs a hole or a cut, we tell you before we do it.

Fleet contracts

Are fleet contracts only for Syairozi Group companies?

No. We look after the vehicles of Syairozi Group companies, and fleets from outside the group can take a contract too. Email us with an outline of your vehicle types and how many you run.

Can trucks and buses be included?

Service for heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses is coming soon. For now, fleet contracts cover cars, light commercial vehicles and motorcycles.

Who approves extra work?

The person you name in the contract. We send the findings and estimate to them, and the work only starts once they approve it.

Can I see the service history for the whole fleet?

Yes. Every vehicle has its own service record, and you can ask for it at any time for one vehicle or the whole fleet.

Genuine and OEM parts

What is the difference between genuine and OEM-grade parts?

Genuine parts are sold under the vehicle maker's brand. OEM-grade parts are made to the same specification, often by the same supplier, but sold under another brand. Both are fit for use, and we explain the difference for the part you need.

Can I bring my own parts?

Yes. We check first that the part suits the vehicle and is in good condition. If we have doubts, we tell you before fitting it.

Can I buy parts without having them fitted?

Ask us by email, naming the vehicle and the part you are after. We will reply on whether we can supply it.

Scheduled towing

Is this an emergency towing service?

No. Scheduled towing is for a vehicle that will not run and can wait for an agreed time. If a vehicle breaks down somewhere unsafe, put safety first and call the local emergency services.

How do I book a tow?

Send an email with the vehicle type, the complaint, where the vehicle is and the time you would like. We reply with a time we can keep, and the tow goes ahead once the time is agreed.

Can you tow trucks and buses?

Not yet. Scheduled towing currently covers cars, light commercial vehicles and motorcycles. Heavy vehicle service is coming soon.

What should I prepare before the vehicle is towed?

Make sure the keys and vehicle papers are to hand, take valuables out of the cabin, and tell us if a wheel is locked, a tire is flat or the vehicle sits in a tight space. Details like that help us plan the right way to load it.
