Mechanical repair

Engine, transmission, brakes and suspension, taken apart and put right.

A strange noise, a vibration or lost power rarely has one obvious cause. That is why we do not start by taking things apart. The vehicle is inspected, scanned where possible and tested until the source of the problem is found.

Then we explain what is broken, what needs replacing and what the estimate is. Work only starts once you agree. If something new turns up halfway through, we stop and ask again.

Engines, transmissions, brakes and kaki-kaki (suspension and steering) are worked on up on the lift with genuine or OEM-grade parts. Before the vehicle goes back to you, we road test it to make sure the complaint is really gone, then everything is written into the service record.

Questions

Why not just take it apart straight away?

Taking things apart without knowing the cause often means replacing parts that were still fine. Diagnosing first keeps the work on target and makes the cost easier to estimate from the start.

How do I know a part really needs replacing?

We show you the part and explain why it is no longer fit for use. The old parts that come off can be seen or taken home if you ask at drop-off.

How long does an engine or transmission repair take?

It depends on what we find and on parts availability. We give a time estimate together with the cost estimate, and if anything changes we let you know before that time runs out.
