AC service

Cold air again: leak checks, refrigerant recharge and component repair.

Request a quote

An AC that has stopped cooling rarely just ran out of refrigerant. The system is sealed, so if the refrigerant is low, there is almost always a leak. Recharging without finding it only buys a short spell of cold air.

So we check first: system pressure, leaks at hoses and joints, the compressor, the condenser fan and how clean the evaporator is. We explain the findings and the estimate before any component is opened or replaced.

Once the repair is approved and done, the system is vacuumed, charged with refrigerant to the maker's specification and the outlet temperature is tested. All the work goes into the vehicle's service record. AC service is available for cars and light commercial vehicles.

  • Evaporator cleaned and cabin filter replaced
  • System vacuumed and recharged to the maker's specification
  • Faulty AC components repaired or replaced

Signs it is time

  • The AC is not cold enough, or only cools while driving
  • A musty smell comes from the vents
  • A harsh noise when the AC is switched on
  • Weak airflow even with the fan on full

    Approval

Findings and the estimate are explained. No work goes ahead without your approval.

  4. 04

    Repair

On the lift, mechanical and electrical work is carried through.

  5. 05

    Parts

Genuine or OEM-grade parts come off the shelf, not guesswork.

  6. 06

    Road test and record

A road test to be sure, then the service record is written.

  7. 07

    Handover

The keys go back to you and the vehicle goes back on the road.

Questions

Can you just top up the refrigerant?

If the refrigerant is low, there is a leak. Topping up without fixing it means the AC warms up again soon and the refrigerant is wasted. We find the leak first, then you decide the next step.

How often does the AC need servicing?

The cabin filter and evaporator are best checked on the schedule in your vehicle manual, more often if the vehicle spends a lot of time on dusty roads. Otherwise, bring it in when it starts to cool less or smell.

Do you service AC on motorcycles?

Motorcycles do not have AC, so this service is for cars and light commercial vehicles. For trucks and buses, heavy vehicle service is coming soon.

Why does the AC smell musty when I switch it on?

It is usually dirt and mould building up on a damp evaporator and cabin filter. An air freshener only hides the smell for a while. The evaporator needs cleaning and the cabin filter replacing for the smell to really go.
